The U.S. utilities sector has been outperforming all other sectors in terms of gains last month and quarter, rising 9.78% and 17.33% respectively.
Reaves Utility Income Trust (NYSE:UTG) is a closed-end fund with substantial investments in the utility sector and a strong long-term track record. UTG CEF pays monthly dividends, has a yield of 8.21%, and has a positive 5-year dividend growth rate. Reeves Utility Income Trust is a closed-end fund, or CEF. UTF's objective is to achieve high after-tax total returns, consisting primarily of tax-deferred dividend income and capital appreciation. It intends to invest at least 80% of its total assets in dividend-paying common and preferred stocks and debt securities of utility companies.
The remaining 20% of its assets may be invested in other securities, including equities, money market instruments and debt securities, as well as certain derivatives in utilities or other industries.
