Google Cloud Created an Incubator for Web3 Developers based on its iCloud

Google (parent company Alphabet, GOOGL) is looking to help Web3 developers accelerate their projects and is expanding its support program. According to Cointelegraph, as of April 25, the program has been including Web3 dedicated developers such as Alchemy, Aptos, Base, Celo, Flow, Hedera, Nansen, Near, Polygon, Solana and Thirdweb. The same day, blockchain analytics firm Nansen joined a partnership with Google Cloud to provide real-time blockchain data for startups. Its database currently contains over 250 million wallet labels.

According to a press release, the Google Cloud Startup Program initiative will now be offered to developers in the Web3 industry. The company reported Cloud revenue of $7.4 billion in Q1 2023, up 27.5% from $5.8 billion in the year ago period. It’s worth mentioning that Google Cloud includes both the infrastructure and platform-as-a-service segments — which competes directly with Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure — along with Google Workspace, its productivity software package that includes corporate Gmail, Docs, Calendar etc.

Eligible projects will now be able to apply for the program, which offers loans of up to $200,000 based on an outcome of participation in the relevant contest.
